DAY 1: Sunday or Wednesday
Darwin
After making your own way to Darwin it’s time to check in to the Crowne Plaza Darwin for your overnight stay.
DAY 2: Monday or Thursday
Kakadu, Nourlangie Rock and Yellow Water Billabong
Kakadu is Australia’s largest national park and is a place of unrivalled natural and cultural significance.
Heading deep into Kakadu National Park you’ll visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre, the famous Yellow Water Billabong where you’ll enjoy a fantastic wildlife cruise and the impressive rock art site at Nourlangie. Stay overnight at Kakadu’s Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn. (BL)
DAY 3: Tuesday or Friday
Ubirr Art Site, East Alligator River Cruise
This morning you have the option to take a scenic flight over the Arnhem Land escarpment (additional cost) before visiting the superb rock art site at Ubirr. You also join an Aboriginal guided cruise on the East Alligator River and take in the stunning views across the Kakadu Wetlands. Return to Darwin early evening where you’ll spend another night at the Crowne Plaza Darwin. (L)
DAY 4: Wednesday or Saturday
The Ghan to Katherine
Now it’s time to board The Ghan and travel South to Katherine past lush, tropical scenery. You’ll stop there for around 4 hours giving you enough time to look around town or enjoy
a spectacular Whistle Stop Tour† at Katherine Gorge. Then it’s time to hop back on board for your overnight journey to Alice Springs. (BLD)
DAY 5: Thursday or Sunday
Alice Springs
After arriving in Alice Springs in the morning you’ll have time to look around town. Or if you prefer you might like to join a Whistle Stop Tour† before reboarding the train and enjoying the desert scenery as you continue your journey South overnight. (BD)
DAY 6: Friday or Monday
Arrive Adelaide
Enjoy one last breakfast on board before ending your holiday at Adelaide Parklands Rail Terminal. (B)
