On April 12th my sister Pam and myself left on the Ghan to Darwin... What an amazing journey the crew were absolutely marvellous, on arriving in Darwin we decided instead of flying home after 7 days we would re book to come home on the Ghan it is the only way to travel we are saving up now for our train trip to Perth.. Thankyou for the wonderful . Nanette... Mt.Barker.. S.A.

My partner Ian Humphreys and I, Bev Jones just experienced the most fabulous ̉Great TrainÓ ride on 'The Ghan'. We cannot praise the encounter enough. We would like to thank all concerned.
Below a little verse written in appreciation.
'The Ghan' was our travel destination
A train that sweeps the centre of the Nation.
The loco drivers, upfront who like to hide,
Thanks guys for the fabulous, smooth ride.
The onboard crew was terrific
Headed by John an avid Manly Football fanatic.
Simone was the best,
Closely followed by the rest.
To the chefs Terry and Karen
Who did not leave our tummies baron.
Our credit card account was not in peril
As this was left to the competent Errol.
To make sure we were served our meals & drinks and comfy in bed,
We left this to Marie, Rochelle, Casey, Nikki, Sally, & Cherie instead.
About Phillip, what can we say?
Keep up the good work, you'll go far eh?
To the rest of the crew
To the patrons were loyal and true.
Next time we travel, in bed each other to have and to hold,
We'd like to try platinum instead of gold.

Myself and 2 friends did the trip from Adelaide to Darwin on the Ghan and had an absolute fantastic trip, I would not hesitate to do it again and have told all my friends about the trip. We did the trip in June 2008. Thank you GSR for a great trip.

We travelled Gold Class on the Ghan in mid October 2008 from Darwin to Adelaide, and what a wonderful experience. The staff, especially Karen, the supervisor, were exceptional, professional and extremely helpful as we travelled with our 84 year old mother, Olive. The food was unbelievable as was the scenery. We are all looking forward to our next journey!

We had the pleasure of travelling Platinum Service from Sydney to Perth on 3rd January for our anniversary and can only say that it is a 'must do' We have train travelled in Canada & Alaska and the Australian outback experience is totally unique, thanks GSR for a memorable experience.

We recently travelled on the Overland from Adelaide to Melb, and had a great time on this spotlessly clean, comfy train. Plenty of room to move about, great views, Coffee was fabulous, we couldn't find a coffee in Melbourne to match that! Great hostess, Jacky, funny lady, all the staff were great and very helpful. I'll be training asap again soon!

We had such a great time on The Ghan that as soon as we got home I booked for the two of us to go on the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Perth in October 2009.

My husband and I travelled the beginning of December 2008 and we had the best time ever. The people, food, cabin were all that we could imagine and then some. After our first night we have now decided that this year 2009 we will travel the Indian Pacific at Xmas. We saw the desert in flood below Alice Springs to Adelaide, a sight we will not get to see again.

Fantastic! We travelled in Dec 08 from Sydney to Perth, to celebrate my 60th birthday. What an amazing experience. The staff, the cabins, the food....Five stars!
